5 Days Kulen Mount & Koh Ker & Beng Melaea & Floating Village

Day 1: After your breakfast our guide will meet you in the lobby at your accommodation (Hotel or Guest House) and will take you to visit to the city of Angkor Thom. The first we will start visit South gate of Angkor Thom as we can see the giant 4 faces tower of the gate and 2 side statues: demons & gods carrying the giant snakes flank along the side of the road and we continue in A/C vehicle to Bayon temple located in center of Angkor Thom as it’s the highlight temple one of Angkor Thom city with 49 towers which every tower has 4 faces so that’s mean all towers have 196 faces of Budhhistsatva Avalokestesvara and we walk to the next temple nearby called Baphoun which is Hindu temple built before Angkor Wat in 11st Century but the big Reclining Buddha behind built in 16th Century & continue to Royal Palace and visit temples inside such as Pimeanakas, Pools ( Sras Srei & Bross ) then we walk outside to the front of Royal Palace to see Elephant & Liper King Terrace & Palilay. From the view of Elephant & Liper King Terrace you can see Sourprat & Noth & South Kleang temples. After we finish the whole complex of Angkor Thom when exit we will stop by at South gate of Angkor Thom again for visit small mountain temple Bakseicham Krong.

After busy couple hours in the morning around 12:30pm we’ll have lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch already around 1:30pm or 2:00pm in the afternoon we’ll visit the world famous Angkor Wat temple. It really is amazing! Afterward continue to Phnom Bakheng climb the hill and temple for enjoy watching sunset view. After sunset when getting dark then we climb down the hill and return to your hotel or guesthouse by 6:00pm or 6:30pm.

Note: Due to the limited number of tourists at the peak on Phnom Bakheng then we will require or take you to climb up Phnom Bakheng a bit earlier and you can take a bit more longer waiting for sunset ( Note : Waiting & see sunset will take 1.45 hours - 2 hours ).


Day 2: After your breakfast our guide will meet you in the lobby at your accommodation (Hotel or Guest House) and will take you to visit Phnom Kulen Mountain located more than 60 km from Angkor Park. This place is not the temple but a river bed covered with sculptures of Lingas that we called 1000 Lingas, the symbol of the God Shiva’s supreme essence. Continue to visit Big Reclining Buddha built from natural giant rock called Prah Ang Thom and after go to see Waterfall. At waterfall is good place for swim also if you like swimming.

After busy couple hours in the morning and drive down from Kulen Mountain around 1:00pm or 1:30pm pm we’ll have lunch at a local restaurant at the foot of mountain or if you hungry already we can have lunch at any good restaurant on mountain.

After lunch already around 2:00pm or 2:30pm in the afternoon we visit Banteay Srei or called Ladies temple, the one which built from the pink sandstone in half of 10th  century by Hindu King Rajendravarman II for dedicated to trinity Gods in Hindu mainly Shiva. On the way back we’ll stop to see Sugar Palm villages the place where you’ll see local people are making sugar palm or you can stop around there also to see Landmine Museum then we continue to visit Banteay Samre and Pre Rup temple, a temple with 5 levels that you’ might be enjoy with very nice view when you get up to the top of this temple.


Day 3: Start tour early at 5:00am to watch sunrise at Angkor Wat after view of sunrise come back to hotel for breakfast and then we start again to Start tour early at 5:00am to watch sunrise at Angkor Wat after view of sunrise come back to hotel for breakfast and then we start again to visit Prah Khan which built by King Jayavarman VII dedicated to his father. It is a huge, highly exportable monastic complex, and served as a Buddhist monastery and school, engaging over 1000 monks. Continue to Neak Poan, a small island temple located in the middle of the last Barray, constructed by a Khmer King in the Angkor Area and we continue to nearby temple Ta Som, the small temple but classic, East Mebon, a large temple-mountain like ruin, rising three levels and crowned by five towers temple the most distant on the grand circuit road.

After lunch already around 1:30pm or 2:00pm in the afternoon we visit Ta Nei as small temple still covered by jungle  and we continue to visit Ta Prohm temple  the one with a lot of gigantic root of trees over the temple and It's the place where Hollywood film company made a Movie "Tom Raider" and we continue to Banteay Kdei temple nearby Ta Promh. On the way back to hotel we will stop by visit small Hindu Temple Krovan and we will be at your hotel maybe by or before 4:30pm or 5:00pm.

At night: If on your request we can offer for free for bring you at night to have Buffet dinner with Watching Cambodian traditional performance (Apsara Show) but dinner show you pay by yourself.


Day 4: After your breakfast our guide will meet you in the lobby at your accommodation (Hotel or Guest House) and will take you to visit Koh Ker Group located more than150 km northeast of Siem Reap town in the province of Preah Vihear, it was briefly the capital of the Khmer empire between 928 and 944.

After busy couple hours in the morning around 12:30pm we’ll have lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch already around 1:30pm or 2:00pm in the afternoon we go to visit Beng Mealea. So far this temple still original as no restoration yet and too much covered by jungle that’s why most people called “Indianajon temple”.


Day 5: After your breakfast our guide will meet you in the lobby at your accommodation (Hotel or Guest House) and will take you to visit floating village on Tonle Sap Lake at Kampong Pluk village to see the long stilted house and flooded Mangrove forest.

After busy couple hours in the morning around 12:30pm we’ll have lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch already around 1:30pm or 2:00pm in the afternoon we go to visit temples in Roulos Group ( Lolei, Preah Ko, Bakong ) located in Roulos Village. Other optional sightseeing to fill with the time after Roulos Group we go to see local market: Sphar Leu Market, Old Market and Artisan d’Angkor, where it is famous for its traditional craft skills products are available such stone carving, wood carving, lacquering, gilding and silk processing.


***Everyday time to start tour you can choose by yourself but we suggest you to start at 8:00am 8:15am or 8:30am or 8:45am or 9:00am except sunrise tour which require starting at 4:45am-5:00am. When tour start tour guide and driver will come to pick you up from hotel lobby then you have to be ready already in the lobby at this time also.

Tips:

  • Please note that you must be dressed appropriately for visiting some of our temples, Angkor Wat, Baphoun inside Angkor Thom, Phnom Bakheng and climbing some temples. This means your pants or skirt should  cover your  knees and shirt can not be  sleeveless (make sure that your shirt covers  your shoulders, no singlets!) otherwise you won't be allowed  entry or to climb up this is by Temples Authority.
    Comfortable walking shoes are recommended and wearing light cotton clothes are suggested as well for the weather from March to July as it's very hot with high humidity.
  • We suggest you to bring your camera charger then you can recharge it during your lunch break at restaurant.
  • The official currency in Cambodia is the Cambodian Riel (KHR), however USD$ are used everywhere in the country and most of the prices are set in USD. We advise you to bring US$ and remember to bring new and clean bank notes as the old or torn notes will not be accepted at most places. ATMs are almost everywhere in the city also and making it easy to withdraw cash in USD. The exchange rate is usually roughly KHR4000 to US$1, so if you give US$2 for something which costs KHR6000, you will usually receive back KHR2000.
